Kitty tattoo, anyone?

I’ve been looking for cat charms and strayed on a site for tattoos. Here’s something interesting:

Maori tribes in New Zealand believed that a tattoo of a certain animal would allow some of that animal’s qualities seep into the wearer. That belief, if not articulated, is still certainly felt by people whether they have dolphin tattoos, tiger tattoos, or those ever-popular wolf tattoos. When someone creates a scorpion tattoo they are certainly identifying themselves with some aspect of the scorpion.

What would I think of a person with a cat tattoo? Hmmm… cuddly? Cute? Hissy? Hehehe!

Come to think of it, I’ve never seen anyone with a cat tattoo before.

Baldy kitty

My cats are funny. They definitely are short-haired but some have thicker fur than others. The thick-haired little guy has it bad in the summer. I notice how Kittycat stays in the coolest part of the house, lies on metal (he even lay on top of a cleaver once) and grooms his rump non-stop. It’s his body part with the thickest and longest hair.

We’ve had a terrible hot spell recently and during that week, I notice Kittycat with a bald spot near his tail. Yikes! It will still be hot for more than a month, I think. I wonder how Kittycat will cope. Since he’s was a stray, he never got used to taking a bath. I hope he doesn’t turn bald. There is still no hair transplant for cats that I know of.

Space for my cats

One of the best things about living in a house with a yard instead of an apartment is that I can have almost as many pets as I am capable of caring for. In apartments, pets are usually not allowed or are restricted to one per.

As I was browsing the net, I hear George Lindemann, Jr. is thinking of selling real estate. Makes me wonder. Are cats allowed there? How much more should you pay for a pets allowed apartment or condo than on a restricted building?

Safe from pets

Speaking of dogs, and cats, for that matter, it seems like there is a rise in animal bites during the summer. It could be because schoolchildren are home and roaming the streets at this time.

I only found out around two years ago that cat bites could potentially be more rabid than dog bites. Ayayay! There are also a few documented cases of cats attacking humans and sometimes disfiguring them.

My felines are all very tame but I’m still not being complacent. At the very least I don’t want to have any procedures like this one described by a San Jose rhinoplasty clinic done. Of course, neither do I want to fight for my life.

Keep the shots updated, kitties!
