A mouthful

Dot with a mouthful of bird

Shades of Sylvester, Tweety’s nemesis??

Dot is an avid birder, well, a bird catcher. Even when he was a wee kitten, he’d rapturously watch birds and swat at them when they fly low. Now that he can catch birds… well, poor birds.

I don’t think he eats birds though because he leaves them as soon as they’re lifeless. Ooohhh, a cold-blooded murderer is my little darling.

Birdcat is not impressed

Birdcat the Great

“Work? But that’s boooooooorrrrrrriiiingggg! See, just watching you makes me fall asleep. Zzzzz…”

That’s my darling Birdcat, the original naughty but extremely smart kitty. She made her debut on my personal blog.

Her name is Birdcat because she loves to munch on uncooked rice and more!

Have you seen a cat who, perhaps, just for kicks tries what uncooked pasta tastes like? And after liking it, proceeds to seize every opportunity to satisfy her cravings, even after eating a proper meal?

And chicos are her favourite fruit.

Cat Food

Cats in the Philippines are usually fed leftovers. Mine are but that’s just a supplement. Since there are seven of them, I do not have enough leftovers to feed the rascals.

Commercial cat food is out of the question. Aside from being too expensive (for Philippine circumstances), looking at the labels makes me think it’s not nutritious enough.

Here’s an excerpt from a paper written by a veterinarian:

Conventional-minded veterinarians often say that commercial diets are superior to home-prepared diets, because the commercial diets are balanced, while home cooking creates nutritional deficiencies and diseases. The reality is just the opposite, as we will see.
